Description
Step into one of Italy's most illustrious theaters with a guided tour of La Fenice, a Venetian architectural gem. Established in 1792 with a striking Neoclassical design, this theater has faced considerable challenges, including three devastating fires. Yet, true to its name, which means "phoenix" in Italian, La Fenice has continuously revived from its ashes.
In the 19th century, La Fenice was the venue for world premieres of many famed operas, such as Rossini's Tancredi, Bellini's Capuleti e i Montecchi and Beatrice di Tenda, Donizetti's Belisario, Pia de' Tolomei, and Maria de Rudenz, and Verdi's La traviata.
The theater, which seats over 1,000 people, is renowned for its superb acoustics, housing a 98-member orchestra and a 66-strong chorus. It hosts over 100 performances annually, conducted by some of the world’s finest maestros.
Embark on a guided exploration to uncover its rich history and marvel at its opulent gold and stucco interiors.
