Description
Begin your morning with a tour of the summit of St. Peter’s Basilica. Climb the very top of the summit and listen to the fascinating stories told by a knowledgeable guide.
You will meet with your guide between 8 and 9 am when there are still no crowds in the city, and Rome is being bathed in the morning light. After descending, venture into the Papal Crypt beneath the basilica, where many prominent popes are interred.
Your guided experience continues with a tour of St. Peter’s Basilica, highlighting incredible works of art like Bernini’s ornate Baldacchino and Michelangelo’s renowned Pietà.
This tour offers a comprehensive and inspiring look at one of Rome’s most cherished sites.
Instructions
- Show your smartphone ticket to the guide at the meeting point, Piazza della Città Leonina (near the arches, where the square meets via di Porta Angelica). Facing the arches, the meeting point is located at the corner of the square, on the left-hand side, next to the kiosk
- The City Wonders coordinators will be holding a sign and wearing blue City Wonders polo shirts or jackets
- Do not go through the metal detectors before meeting the guide
- After the tour you can stay inside the basilica
- To access St. Peter's Basilica, please consider that from June to the end of August there could be long lines and the waiting time could be up to 30 minutes
