Description
Visit the stately home of the Dukes of Alba, Madrid's most significant private house, with 200 rooms on 3500 m².
The palace of Liria was built in the 18th century and is sometimes referred to as "the younger brother of the Royal Palace". It is a typical example of the 18th century emerging neoclassicism, the style, which left behind Rococo and adopted the tradition of the Parisian urban palaces.
This tour will take you to the 14 rooms of Palacio de Liria, where you will discover sumptuous suites, vaulted ceilings, and decorative furniture. These rooms display the wealth of the palace's past and present owners. In addition, the palace boasts a great private collection of artworks by Goya, Velázquez, Murillo, Greco, and Ribera.
An audio guide is provided that sheds light on the palace's past and comments on the masterpieces hanging on its walls.
