Description

Montjuïc Cable Car tickets are an opportunity for a journey of discovery with breathtaking vistas that showcase Barcelona in all its glory.

This cable car connects the city of Barcelona to the top of Montjuïc Hill, providing a magnificent bird's-eye view over the Catalan capital.

It sets out with a funicular worth the few meters up from Paral·lel metro station to Parc de Montjuic. It continues seamlessly to the cable car and brings visitors up for a scenic 750-meter trip to the summit at Montjuic. Along the way, one can get off at Parc de Montjuïc, Miramar, or Castell de Montjuïc.

As you head skywards, enjoy breathtaking views of Barcelona underneath you. There, waiting for you is Montjuïc Castle, a historic 17th-century fortress and former prison.

From the castle, you can actually spot the well-known landmarks of the Sagrada Familia and Torre Glòries while also enjoying beautifully breathtaking views of the harbor. This area is also rich in culture because it is home to some wonderful gems like Fundació Joan Miró, Poble Espanyol, and the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya.

Fun fact: Gaudí's Sagrada Familia has a tallest tower which goes up to 170 meters, only 1 meter shorter than Montjuïc-the height of Barcelona-an accolade worthy of a place in showcasing the city and its remarkable heights and architectural wonders.

Instructions

  • Show your smartphone ticket at the entrance
  • Connection is not good onsite, make sure to download the tickets/voucher before reaching the cable car
  • Don't go to the cable car at the port. If you take the funicular at Paral·lel metro station, it'll take you to the first Montjuïc cable car station – which is the best way to get to the top of the hill
