Casa Rocamora, a splendid emblem of Catalan modernist architecture, gives shelter to this foundation which preserves the legacies of Manuel Rocamora, collector, and philanthropist. Several precious historical treasures, such as unique textiles, centuries-old manuscripts, and fine porcelain, are found in this collection. They indicate the artistry and cultural diversity of the periods. The visitors can also find a library with around 5000 volumes, which includes books on art history, literature, and much more.
Manuel Rocamora Vidal was born in 1892 and was not merely an artist; he was also a collector. At a tender age, he got infatuated with old garments and some of his earliest roots that were to be established for a lifetime. There are a few really interesting stories behind his great collection that you shall discover whilst going through the traveling museum.
As you walk through the lavishly furnished Elizabethan mansion that once belonged to Manuel, bask in his Alcora ceramics, sculptures, drawings, and paintings, all dating to the 19th and 20th centuries. Each piece tells a story, showing Manuel's critical eye and deep appreciation of art and history.
