Herculaneum: Skip The Line Ticket + Roundtrip Transfer from Naples
From €41.00
Less known than the neighbouring Pompeii, the city of Herculaneum is another ancient Roman city located closer to Vesuvius and thus affected even more during the notorious eruption. The human bodies, buildings, public spaces - there was a lot of material for the investigators who first discovered the city buried under the ashes... Compared to Pompei, Herculaneum was a smaller city with wealthier and more intellectual elites. Today, it is easy to visit even for a few hours, which is impossible in Pompei. And yet there is plenty to see: Thermal Baths, several houses with facades in almost perfect condition, some two stories high, the port, Sanctuary of the Augustales, a temple dedicated to Vulcan, Neptune, Mercury and Minerva.
